What is this?

Rick Roll It! is a URL shortening service. What that means is that you can give us a long web address and we’ll give you a shorter address which redirects to it. You can then use the shortened address in email, on forums, on Twitter, or anywhere else where a long URL would look ugly.

How long do shortened URLs last?

We don’t delete old URLs from our database, so any short URLs you create will last forever. We do, however, remove any URLs which relate to material which is obscene, hateful, or somehow illegal. If you arrived at something like that via Rick Roll It!, please report the link you followed to adam@rickroll.it.

What’s a “Rick Roll”?

Rick rolling is when someone tries to trick someone else into following a link to the video of Rick Astley's “Never Gonna Give You Up.” Wikipedia has more info. Rick Roll It! isn’t intended solely for this purpose (and obviously our name might tip people off to what you're doing) – you’re welcome to shorten any URL you want here.
